Your data
Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who is responsible
The Halo Effect in the Home Team is the data controller for the information you give us. You can reach us at diaryofapropertysolicitor@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your name, email address and phone number (optional) when you place a bid.
- Your organisation name, if you choose to give it.
- The amount of your bid and any message you add.
We do not collect payment details on this website. Payment is made separately through GoFundMe, who handle that information under their own privacy policy.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To run the silent auction, confirm bids and contact the winning bidder — on the basis of your consent, given when you submit a bid.
- To arrange collection or delivery of artwork to the winning bidder — necessary to complete the arrangement you have entered into.
- To keep basic records of funds raised for the charities we support — our legitimate interest in running the fundraiser responsibly.
Who can see it
Your details are visible only to the event organisers. Bid amounts are shown publicly on the website without any personal details attached. We use trusted service providers to host the website and send emails; they process the data only on our instructions. We never sell or share your details for marketing.
How long we keep it
Bid records are kept until the fundraiser has been fully wound up and all artwork has been paid for and delivered, and are deleted no later than 12 months after the event, unless we are required to keep them longer for accounting purposes.
Cookies and website storage
This website uses only essential storage in your browser — for example remembering that you have seen our cookie notice, and keeping organisers signed in to the admin area. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer include your bid in the auction.
To make a request, visit our data request page. We respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
